Pip McGregor
Owner/Founder – Dermal Therapist & Micropigmentation Specialist Pip was born and bred in Canterbury – a country girl who has always had a fascination with beauty and skin, “Mum kind of clicked I may be inclined to this industry when I used to run around the farm with shaped blue tack extensions stuck on my nails- then I did makeovers on whomever I could - using whatever I could”. A fascination with skin and beauty led to 10 years in Melbourne studying and working with the best in the industry. On coming back to NZ- “Its been great to be trained by the best in the business and to be able to bring world class treatments & knowledge home to NZ- we are definitely catching up as far as skin and health and treating a client holistically- and its been great to be a part of that.” After starting an extremely successful & busy clinic in Timaru, Pip has relocated back to Christchurch - the home of Making Faces. “Making Faces to me has a clear direction, I want it to be boutique and personal , for our clients to be able to access knowledge on skin and health that goes beyond slapping on some expensive cream. We want to offer only the best products and technology, and look after each client as if they were family, and being boutique lets us achieve this” She is so proud of her team saying “The depth of knowledge & quality of staff here is the key to why our clients are with us for life” The two Bichons “Maggie and Max” and salon cat “Mr Bigglesworth” at Making Faces keep the animal lover happy while Pip’s time prevents her from pursuing her other passion in life –her horses. ”They are all being turned out while life is so busy with Making Faces, when life settles down I will get back into it” The micropigmentation industry is fast paced and changing constantly and Pip is committed to being at the frontline of technology and techniques being introduced across the world. She was invited to attend the World Micropigmentation Congress in Berlin this year, and said the experience was eye opening. "Sometimes coming from way down under in New Zealand you can feel like we may be a touch behind- but it was exciting to see that we are right up there in terms of knowledge and skill set." Now distributing for a top international German product line there are to be many more trips back and forward to Europe. "It's a great opportunity to be able to bring the best product in the world back to New Zealand to make it more accessible to micropigmentation specialists this side of the world." She will also be their trainer based in New Zealand and aims to upskill technicians in NZ in natural enhancements. "As with anything that becomes on trend, there is an influx of inexperienced operators and it is damaging to the reputation of our industry. Being able to upskill operators means less botch ups, and knowledge is always key. If my experience can help prevent the huge number of sub standard enhancements we are starting to see then that can only be a good thing." Pip’s designer brows will always be her #1 passion “correct brows can change the face more than ANY OTHER thing- except surgery” |
